Sonic 1 Forever X Doki Doki Literature Club

The Literature Club has arrived to South Island!
In this mod, play through Sonic 1 as either one of the four girls from Doki Doki Literature Club. Each have a brand new character slot and brand new abilities!!!
New Playable Characters
- Sayori: In the air, pressing the jump button allows her to dive. This is useful to gain some speed or to get some air time.
- Natsuki: While in the air, press the jump button to double jump. Holding down the button will allow her to charge up and go higher.
- Yuri: Press and hold down the jump button in the air and you'll preform the Drop Dash... until you hit the ground. She’ll stay in her rolling state on landing, speeding forward. To leave this state, press the jump button midair.
- Monika: Press jump in midair to teleport, at the cost of five rings. This allows you to pass through many objects.
More Additions
- A recreation of the DDLC Main Menu over S1F's Main Menu. Music Toggle included.
- A brand-new remixed OST, featuring motifs from DDLC woven throughout.
- Compatibility with S1F Horror Pack, make sure you have THIS mod above Horror Pack.
- Oh and... they can golf.
Save Data Transfer
In order to play the mod with your current save data, you need to bring over your save data into the mod. In order to do this, you would need to:
- Copy the SData.bin file located in the main Sonic Forever folder.
- Paste the SData.bin into the folder of S1FxDDLC mod.

Hey, so... what do I have to do if I'm playing a Sonic 1 Forever android port I got from GameJolt, especially after downloading this mod?

Great mod but I wanted to report a minor bug, it seems when Sayori is playing Golf and she blinks she gets a second eyes closed sprite like 4 pixels on top of the current sprite. If there's a better way to report bugs with the mod I would love to learn that in case I see anything else! :)
so I added this to the mods folder but it doesn't do anything. It detects the mod in the mod menu but it does not change anything, I even restarted the game several times

Have been playing this mod for a while.
I gotta say, it's a pretty good one!
Though, there's some little issues that I found within this playing it.
Sayori's sprite shifts few pixels upwards when idle animation in golf mode.
And I can't tell if it's intentional or not, but no game over jingle.
Setting that aside, it's a awesome mod!
I love how Sayori is so broken for this game, please don't nerf her.

While I doubt this is your biggest worry as of right now, attempting to use this mod on the Nintendo Switch version of the game will not work whatsoever and will cause the game to crash until you manually disable the mod from the modconfig.ini file
okay after further insepction, the reason for the crash is due to the custom menu. So if possible could you either make a character only version or try to fix the switch issue?

No. MC is his own person in the game. We're only the observers.
No he isn't. Maybe in some mods he is but in the DDLC game, MC isn't even really a character. All you see of him is his hair. This isn't a Kris Deltarune situation. I'd say that the character that you play as in DDLC may not be *you* specifically because of some of the dialog that Monika says but I think he's more like a vechicle that lets you interact with their world. My smoking gun for this is that, all of the girls have these .chr files but your character does not

I can't take the character when he already is one. Sorry I can't take the "not a character" bullshit seriously when people who insist he isn't one goes out of their way to treat him like one and claim developing him is bad and a threat to the narrative without the reliance on meta as a crutch
I genuinely can't fathom what inspires such vitriol in a community for trying to interpret a character in a game all about looking past the surface of shit.

natsuki's double jump kinda kills her speed... i would use her a lot more if it didn't do that
i'm no game designer but maybe monika's teleport could carry momentum as well?

Had the same thoughts on Natsuki as well
Kinda wish it didn't function like that and instead it would keep her momentum
Monika's teleportation could be useful in some ways, but... there could be improvements on her ability
Sayori and Yuri are both my favorites to play as, they go speedy fast

i found a glitch.
in labyrinth when monika grabs onto the poles, her sprite gets messed up.
This mod can be played on the mobile port?
You forgot to mention Google Translate/DeepL in the translation credits. Just saying.
Monika sucks. Natsuki is way better.

How can you use it in Sonic 3 Air?
Trying to make the mod work, I keep getting error messages.
I really like this! I think all of the art works well to fit the Dokis into the Sonic 1 artstyle. All of the characterization seems correct and overall, the characters are just fun to play as.
I mainly played as Natsuki as I like her the most. :) She is very cute
Extra Note:
Due to how mod loading works, the mod itself won't properly load until you leave the main menu. You should enable the mod first and then exit the game.
