Hey all. As we approach opening day, I wanted to give you a quick update on where things are at with the trailer and clarify how guest streamers on Twitch and YouTube should tag their streams to be picked up by the new stream gallery.

Firstly, the trailer is almost done. However, Froozex unfortunately had some work-related things come up that have pulled him away from being able to finalize it. If it’s not ready by tomorrow, we will unfortunately have to release it as a launch trailer again this year. Next year, we’ll definitely need to open up trailer submissions much sooner to deliver the trailer about a week out from opening day.

Next, for anyone planning on streaming this year, let’s clarify some details on how to tag your streams or stream schedules on social media platforms in order to be featured by us. On YouTube and Twitch, you will need to add the tag #SHC2026Live to the title of your entry in order to be featured in our stream gallery. Additionally, if you are streaming on Twitch, you will need to set the stream category to a Sonic game of some kind (any will do) in order for the stream gallery to find it. We will also occasionally check our Twitter and BlueSky accounts for stream schedules and going live announcements and repost/relay them as often as we can, but this is more of a back-up method, and it is recommended that you primarily rely on tagging through streaming platforms themselves.

I think that’s all the information I have for now. We’ll see you all when the trailer drops and the contest opens!
